“I just love to travel, I love seeing new things, trying new things,” David Salazar said.

Helping others “see new things” is Salazar’s specialty working at the Texas State Optical Northshore in East Houston.

In his spare time, he loves to travel and went to Colorado last month.

“I paid for all four tickets for the plane and it was very, very cheap,” he said. “I usually pay for two of them, which is what I paid for four.”

If you want to relax on one of the beaches of the United States, Alton suggests going to Miami.

A two- or four-night trip to Fontainbleu Miami Beach, including fare, costs $1,800.

If you and your spouse want to do some gambling in Sin City, four nights at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, plus flights, is $900.

No matter where you go, Alton notes that you might find the best deal by waiting 30 days before booking.

It also encourages you to be flexible, if you can.

He said that when it comes to travel in the US, be sure to check the closures, including in parks.

If you will be traveling outside the country, be aware of COVID-19 protocols.

He also adds that a plus of travel is that many hotels have been able to do renovations in the last year, so there’s a chance to stay in a fresh, up-to-date room.
